Speed senser ring gear on diff.???
Im installing a new Quaife LSD in my GSR trans. I havent recieved the LSD yet, its on order. But I started pulling out the stock diff. Do I need to order a new Speed Senser Ring gear? or does the Quaife come with one?? Im guessing the dealer also has to order the gear so I want to get it ordered so it will be here when the LSD comes in. If its not reuseable????
Thanks.
Thanks.
you need to remove the speedo gear from the stock diff.
be very careful when removing it.......its very fragile and can brake easily......and to top it all off it's NOT available separately from the dealer. you need to purchase a whole new diff just for that speedo gear.
but if you brake it don't sweat it......there are some people who sell those separately you just gotta know where to look.

I have one that I can sell you.
the easiest way to remove yours is to get a propane torch and heat it up, once it is really hot, get a brass hammer and tap it lightly in a circular pattern (go around the ring gear and tap the backside towards the outside of the differential). Be sure to keep it hot and do not hit it hard enough to damage the teeth on the gear, as they are very fragile.

got that sucker off. I took it to work and used the body guys torch. heated it and took a screw driver and popped it off. Came off real easy after it was heated. Thanks
