seeing as my car is off the road for a few days i decided to change plugs/leads/vtec solenoid seal etc..anyway when i pulled the plugs out the tip/electrode is pure/bright white almost like chalk dust..which means i'm running too rich and is obviously adding to my oil consumption problem (3-4 quarts every 5k) so how do i change the mixture to a less rich/leaner mixture. BTW the plugs have only been in the car less than 5k, theyre denso iridium plugs, i checked the old NGK ones i had taken out before putting in the densos and they are a light/medium brown colour which suggests that theyre were ok...so what is causing the mixture to run rich as i havent changed anything else on the engine?

i bought a set of NGK Bk6Re (i think) anyways its the ones marked on the side of the valve cover so theyre the correct ones. I have a mugen cat back system, caldo honda hi flow cat, and blitz intake, everything else is stock
You are running WAY lean if they are white, not rich. FPR would be a good start. What are your mods?
sorry for being dumb but what is FPR...fuel pressure regulator???

i've done the search and cant find what i need...so how do i adjust the fuel pressure to make the mixture less rich...sorry again for beind dumb but i only seem to know about things that i've done myself in the past!!
get those shitty plugs out asap and put in the NGK's. go to school/work/grocery store and when you get back home check them again. They could have been incorrectly gapped, but I dunno much about the effects of incorrect gapping.
Do you hear any pinging from your exhaust?

his plugs are causing this behavier, nothing else, before changing to an adjustable FPR (Apexi) Power/Kingboost etc, replace the plugs with the NGK original ones!!!!
if u were then going lean ....post again

Those types of plugs iridium/platium(sp) ect... Have more resistances built into them, due to the material there made of. However, Honda's are suppose to have one of the better OEM's out there, when it comes to ignition components. Sooo, thats telling me you have a break down in the coil or the igniter, etc...
Just my thoughts...
Just my thoughts...
stock NGK platinum = best all around, even for oem!!!
iridium = not worth the $$$, several bad experiences from other owners...
copper = good performance, bad life
you should run a search...they're are a couple threads on this already...
