Spark plug question
How often do people replace these? I have a mild n/a setup and have 2 years and rougly 17,600 miles on my stock plugs. Also, how do you know when you need to replace these?

Honda recomends 2 years or 30,000 miles on most models. If they are platinum they go longer. What year and model do you have?

If you are using the copper plugs, just do it every few oil changes. It's only about $7 bucks.
Take a look at the plugs - if they are discolored, replace em... that's what I've always been told. I'd say 10-15K miles is a good plan if you don't want to replace as often as I do.

Does compression have an effect on what type of plugs you need? I assume you would need to run a different heat, etc since temperatures will most likely be higher?

I have NGK plugs, stock # 6779 ... (bcpr6es-11)
they are copper, I am running a b series vtec w/ 11.3:1-11.5:1 compression. , type r cams, intake manifold, throttle bod, fuel system.
Has anyone used these model number of plugs in a similar scenereo???
I got them from Jdmhondaparts... (sheng) ... My mechanic didn't use them in my swap.. because he said that B series vtec should" have Platnum plugs! that Mine were the "wrong ones"

I see. How about the rate at which you change your plugs? Would that be effected, or would it still be the same as changing them the same time as if your motor were stock?

Specifically, laser platinum plugs. NGK PFR6G-11 is what you should use.
For performance applications, you should change your plugs every 5000-7500 miles for optimal performance.
