Default Spal Fan Relay

I have a 13" spal fan and everyone kept telling me i need to put a relay on the fan. So i went ahead and bought a spal relay fan kit from spal. Im confused which wire goes where? The diagram it came with says wire it to a switch. I want to wire it to the stock wiring so it comes on with hondata. The relay comes with a yellow and red wire and 2 small gauge wires that are gray and orange. Has anyone bought this relay before? If so how did u wire it to the stock harness?

The small wires are most likely the coil control wires, and as long as your ECU can handle the current.

This is actually a nice upgrade for an S10 Vortec Pickup.

Reuse the factory fan wiring and existing relay.

Ya I got their relay kit to wire it directly to the battery, just wondering What to do with my excitsing two wires from the engine harness that went to the stock fan. Do I hook them up to relay?

Well maybe you should check before you proclaim what I said was horrible.

The factory cooling fan runs through a relay, which is powered by a 15A fuse.

No, yours is horrible advice.

The rad fan relays coil fuse is 7.5A, the relays power is at least a 15A and more likely a 20A fuse.

A spall high output fan can pull up to 40A.

OP, regadless of the above crappy advice, use the spall relay kit, the thick yellow lead to the batt. w/fuse, red to fan, ground either of the thinner leads and connect the other to the OEM rad fan power lead.

The above is only needed if the spall fan you have is rated at more then 15A max current draw.

If you have a "high output" spall fan then you need to check the currant limit of the rad fan relay you got. 94
