into a catch can or somtimes the hoses are attatched to the exhaust and the vapor is burned off

express pressure that builds up inside the engine is pushed out through those hoses and into a can of some sort or out through the exhaust.

on race engines alot of pressure builds in the motor, due to the fact they are wide open and there is no vacum to operate a pcv system, additional breathers are needed to vent this pressure

Probably hooked to an evacuation pump. Just know that you don't want pressure inside your crankcase you want vacuum.
