some ideas
well according to ht it says tech is for things that might not fit anywhere else, today at work was slow and boring, after practicing my tig welding, i sat and did alot of thinking.
Why doesnt honda make a v-8 engine somehow putting two b or k series blocks together? i mean the heads are great, bottom ends pretty stout, good tolerances, maybe a horizontally opposed 8 cylinder, could you still get 100hp/liter like the b16 if you created a 3.2l? or on a bigger brother like a b20, 4 liter 400hp? seems like if they apply the heads and geometry to a larger displacement v8 engine they could really be the top of the v8 market, and with reasonable 11:1 or 11.5:1 compression with good pentroof chambers with good quench zones it would run just fine on pump gas, vtec with a v8? sounds good to me

The Honda F1 RA806E is a V8...
Model Honda Racing F1
Displacement 2.4 litres
Configuration V8, naturally aspirated
Vee angle 90 degrees
Maximum power Over 700 ps
Maximum revs Over 18,500 rpm
Valve train 4 valves per cylinder; pneumatic valve system
Injection system Honda PGM-FI
Throttle system Electronic hydraulically-operated system
Ignition system Honda PGM-IG
Spark Plugs NGK
I wonder if I can shoehorn a 2.4L V8 into my 94LS.

funny, I was gonna post the same thing ...or perhaps you were talking about their F1 engines but I dont think thats what he was talking about
heres a cool vid of one

thats a f1 race engine, those are pretty wicked, the theory behind the power is simple, hp is hp tq is tq, hp being torque over time, you dont have alot of torque but you have alot of time ie rpms, so get that little displacement sucker to rev to the moon and breathe well and you get some good 700hp ish but only like 240-280 lbft of tq.
