Default SOHC valvetrain issue

I did a search and came up empty handed but.....

Basically im having to modify my valvetrain due to some complications after recent overheat. (rebuilt after overheat). if looking at the intake side rockers it goes :

spacer|rocker|vtech|rocker|spacer <---Y8

I need something likewhere one spacer is replaced with a spring)

spacer|rocker|vtech|rocker|spring <------Y8 modified

Question i have is what spring pressure is needed to hold things tight but still allow proper operation?

I hope im not chasing an empty basket but this head has about 20 hours of port time on it so im trying to keep it if i can.

Thanks in advance for any advice you guys can offer.
