Default SOHC timing belt

I don't work on SOHC's that often but my friend has juiced the hell out of his D16Z6 so i'm just rebuilding a D17Y7 bottom end for a little DXVTEC.. hahaha But i was wondering on the timing belts... Are they different??? nonVTEC and VTEC like B18A/B and B18C/1/5?? So I guess the real question is are the water pumps different?? For the headgasket I want a P2E (D16Y8) headgasket or does that matter... hahaha this is funny... I don't know **** about anything... Oh well... Peace

Default Re: SOHC timing belt (Kataku2K3)

you mean d16y7 and p2p head gasket? you can use the y8 gasket, not sure about the waterpumps, but im sure they at least have different part numbers, qand yes the belts are different lengths. If you search then you'll find out what belt to use with what head/bottom end combo. haha i hope this helps.
