Last night I looked in my mirror and noticed smoke coming from my car when I was in the higher rpms. I am not sure what color it was because it was dark outside.

My car has 131k miles, stock b16 motor except for AEM CAI, and I don't drive it hard. I always use 93 octane gas.

What could be causing the smoke when in VTEC? I have heard this is normal, but the car never smoked when it was new....

 

probably burning oil or running rich..

 

yup..probably a combo of both at this point. as long as its not white of overly excessive/losing a lot of oil i wouldnt worry.

 

Is the correct weight and amount of oil in the engine?

 

Yes, I am always on time with the oil changes. Oil is up to date and correctly changed.

 

So do you run 530 or 1030?

 

I believe it is 530. Why?
