Default smokin h22 in v-tech only

2000 prelude, obd2, runs great, but when I go into v-tech, pours black smoke out tail pipe. Running super rich, stock ecu, all systems test ok, 02 sensors good. Bad computer? fix with fuel controller? Also uses about 1 quart of oil every 150 miles.

sure its no blue smoke? Piston rings, valve stem seals more than likely the culprit. Check and make sure your wall charger and docking cradle arent the problem for your VTECH

honestly, i have never heard of wall charger or docking cradle? Tested car with scanner at honda, optimum fuel schedule is 100%, i am at 80% which is 20% rich. I have already replaced my valve guide seals. I think I have a ring problem too, but that doesn't explain why I am so rich. If you are behind when I go into v-tec, is smells like raw fuel. No codes or check engine lights either. new coil, wires, plugs, cap and rotor, just cleaned out egr ports also. It is a mix of black and blue, but mostly black.

It's a H-T maturity test thing. You typed V-Tech instead of VTEC. VTECH makes cordless phones. Some people can't seem to be able to resist making the age old joke/comment about that.

But yeah, anyway, judging by what you're describing I think it's oil you're burning. Have you done a compression/leakdown test yet? Start there and see what you get.
