Default slow car

what can cause a car to be a lot slower than its supposed to be? mine is slow, and i'm sick of it. should be 14s, but it runs high 15s.

depends what you have..

you might need a tune up (oil change, dizzy cap/rotor, spark plug/cable change), etc for a normal car.

What Octane are you using, Tune Up lately, where are you located, altitude plays a role in the way a car runs. Tire sizes, a lot of different things man...

dizzy, plugs, wires - all new
oil is changed every 3-4k miles
92-93 octane
16 flat stock, 15.6 with 40+ more hp, at the same track, which means its not my location

Check the headers if they are cracked (even a hairline crack) or is they are lose they will cause massive losses in tourque and HP use a polish (check for directions before use cause some can dammage headers) There could be some tiny cracks even the gasket can be corroded

everything is new, including the header. the clutch, yeah, wasnt installed right, or the disc was bent, or the plate's crappy, or fluid got on the disc, but i don't think that a not so good clutch and a sloppy tranny could take a second off my time. my 60' times were 2.3.
