Slotted rotors installed wrong direction after 5K should i switch?
The rotors were installed backward about 5k miles ago. They stop excellent thatswhy i never thought about it,but after seeing a coulple post i realized mine were facing the wrong direction. Should i switch them??
It doesn't matter. You'll find hundreds of pics on h-t of them facing either way.
Next time you're stopped next to a new Mercedes, check out its cross-drilled rotors - they put them on backwards now.
In the end, slotted/drilled rotors are 99.9% for looks, so just put them on however you think will look the coolest.

if it REALLY mattered you wouldnt have installed them "wrong" because they would have had "direction of rotoaion" or "Driver/passenger" side labels

It wouldn't be a question of how well they "stop", the primary concern is the direction of the rotor's cooling vanes. The chances are good that the vanes are not directional, in which case the direction that the rotors were installed is not terribly consequential.

I thought that the slots faced the way that they did (forward looking at the top) to pull the brake pads inwards towards the caliper mounting bracket as the slots sweep by.
As stated, the rotors are only directional if the vanes are tilted. If the vanes are straight, there is no proper direction. Do whatever looks the best.

I install mine the same way only with the logic that when/if something is on the rotor and the pad is "sweeping" the rotor clean the slot is directional towards the centrifugal forces at work.......... But in the end it doesn't really matter either way...... Hell most people no H-T (and other forums I've read) will state to you how pointless and useless cross drilled, slotted or both are for any vehicle period....
