Default Slim Fan Installation

Anyone ever installed one on a civic? i cant find a good solid way to mount it... its a 12" proform fan. i guess i may have to fabricate a bracket, but i wanted to see if anyone had suggestions.

buy the ties that let you attach it directly to the radiator, or you can even mount them on the opposite side, the tie kit can be found at autozone

Go to your local auto parts store. Buy a transmission cooler mount kit. They are less than $10. They are just zipties with ends on them that go through the radiator fins.

^^^ what he said. i used regular zipties, but the tranny cooler ones would work better. also, make sure the fan is a puller if mounted in the stock location.

I just installed one in my hb on tuesday.
use what dwnthehatch posted, they work well.
I also had to install a higher rated fuse. It kept blowing the 15 amp fuse. I replaced it with a 25amp fuse and so far it has been working fine.

I used these straps above with my 14" Hayden fan purchased at Kragens for $59.99. As you can see I mounted the fan infront of the stock GSR radiator to gain more space for my H22. Bugs and other debris from the road may be an issue if the car is driven often with it mounted in front like mine.
