with something like this you can use the little tabs that come with your mounting kit, instead of using the long ones( referring to the plastic pieces that you are currently using)

*edit* took me awhile to find that picture

you can get a fan mounting kit or a tranny cooler mounting kit at Lordco, Autozone, Mopac, and maybe Walmart for like $10

A red X is a good indication of something, such as a resurected thread.

Unless you're that guy taking your car to shows with mirrors under his car, regular zip-ties work fine. Work them in and around one of the 'cores', and they'll keep it hanging "up tight and outta sight".

i have always hated the zip ties for the mounting the fan
i think its cheep and looks tackey and it bends the fins of the radiator

i have always made custom mounting brackets with thin sheets of metal

i say just say no to the universial fan mount zip ties

Umm, I don't think HiProfile was directing that comment towards you, I think it was intended to the person replying to a 2 1/2 month old thread.

yeah man. You have anger issues...

What I do is use one zip tie that goes through from the fan side and slide a washer on with another zip tie on the other side. Just snip the ends and it's nice and clean. You can't see the washers in the front, and if you use black zip ties, no one will notice the back. This is coming from someone with a shaved firewall, extremely wire tucked bay that looks pretty immaculate...

It'll be okay man, just relax.

Lol, I was. In case you're wondering, all the red crap in there was from the previous owner, and that pic was taken 5 mis after finishing the kit & making the base tune, and 5mins before driving 60 miles to teh dyno. I dont drive a turbo car just to make 15yr old boys jealous by popping my hood, so obviously I dont keep it as clean as my plates or take millions of pictures of it like it was special. I also rock my heat wrap like some pro racing teams do, fuction over form.

FYI that *is* clean for a DAILY-DRIVEN Wisconsin car. Aside from the dirt and turbo parts, that bay is 100% OEM parts/wiring/vacuum routing.
