Default slight rattle from 3.5K-4Krpm???

I wouldn't doubt that this is a common problem amoung integras-- I have this problem on my 94 GSR and my friend just had it start happening to him on his 98LS... I don't think it's the heat shield because it doesn't rattle extremely loud, and it only rattles between 3500 and 4000 RPM. Anyway, I was hoping someone would be able to tell me what the f*** is making this noise... do I need to replace the catalytic converter entirely??? is it something wrong with the header??? possibly the heat shield on the header??? I know that's not the problem with mine-- because I took that heatshield off and still have the problem... let me know what you guys think.

Thanks in Advance.
Zack

Has the head ever been of the block?

When I pulled my head I didnt reinstall the 2 bolts for the intake manifold support when I re-installed it. Now it makes a slight rattling noise at certain rpms and engine loads.

Just 1 thing to check off the list to narrow things down. goodluck.

Another one that would cause noise to come kinda from that area would be if you had a short shifter installed but yu wouyld be able to feel that.

1 more thing to probably check is where the header bracket mounts to the bottom/back of the block.
