Default Skunk2 valvetrain making noises after valve adjustment

...Is it normal for a Skunk2 valvetrain to sound like a school of tap dancers after a valve adjustment?

I have Skunk2 Stage 1's, and never adjusted the valves after the install until now.

That, and it seems to have this awful bog after I shift from first to second...

Any help is appreciated.

it shouldnt make as much noise as you describe. (of course I'm just assuming that its significantly louder than it should be)

Did you have the correct valve adjustment for that cam.

the spec is .007 in, .008 ex. I know they sound like tap dancers if they are 3-4 thousand too tight. I would let the car get bone cold and check your work again.
that cam is small enough to set the engine at TDC for each cylinder and check the clearance. the best way ever to check the clearance IMHO is to point the cam lobe up, out of phase. If you do this you dont have to worry about being on the heel of the base circle. If you just set a cam to TDC, you should only really measure them from the center of the head out. If you set the cam with lobes pointing up, you can put the feeler on either side. something for you to consider. if you are bogging, it could also mean the lashes are non-uniform from one cylinder to the other. this tends to happen when you do them when the motor is less than bone cold. hope this helps.
