Default skunk2 stage1 or 2

hello i been doing some research and i still need some advice on skunk2 products.

i going to do a b18c1 all motor with mainly skunk2 products. and i still debating on what stage to get. my bro say stage 2 is better and shouldnt' go for 1. but then i heard that stage 1 is much safer. but also i heard that stage 2 is good for an all motor. mainly i'm going to stage 2 right now. until i get more advice and information.

thanks

Stage 1's make a good amount of power. Stage 2's make 8-10wHP more over the Stage 1's. But you gotta get stiffer valvesprings and retainers, and they're not CARB legal like the Stage 1's.

stage 2 are Jun3 copies.

you'll typcially have to rev higher to make your power.

I've seen some very impressive Stage 1 setups. I'd say stick with those.

so your just saying stay with stage 1?? well i want the most power out of that engine. i'm trying to get a setup that hits' 12's without any nos, turbo or supercharger.
but i also heard that there this one ls teg that has skunk2 that runs 14's but i'm not sure on what products that person has i only heard from people.
dont' get me worng but isn't rev higher is good for all motor?
i'm still researching about all motor performance. sorry if i sound like a noob.
thanks for your advice guys

I had stage 2's but Stage 1's make good power.

With Stage 2's your going to need to up your compression ration.

I ran a 14.8 with I/H/E on stock tires... I haven't tried running with my new setup yet. I'll be goin to the Dyno then to the track. I'll post results up once I do.

if you're planning to built your motor later with high compression than go with the stage 2. but if you want to just leave it stock then go with the stage 1. hight lift cams and compression needs to work together.

Are the stage1s actually carb legal or just "carb legal pending"?

Are the skunk2 stage1's a great deal better than the CTR or ITR cams? In terms of gains and smog issues.

In order to get have them work effectively you need to have 11+ compression. Also it is important to not that once you go to stage 2 cams you loose idle characteristics and you will possibly need injectors and a fuel management system. Stage ones are a solid setup until you are ready to put in some bigger amounts of money...

Stage 2's idle fine. I run the Skunk2 chip and a Kenji chip in a P28 (not at the same time) and the engine idles fine with both. But I do have 12:1 compression.

Yes. They're more agressive than the ITR/CTR cams. It's easier to squeeze out more power from the Skunk2 cams than the ITR/CTR's.

If I remember correctly, the spoon cams give good midrange...but the skunks strength is high end.

In that case, going with higher compression pistons with Stage 1s wouldn't do much? or just wouldn't do AS much as they would with stage 2s. In my case, i'm thinking about CTR pistons

Hi guys,
I'm planning to get skunk2 2's for a b16a2. And i've also been told that the stg2's NEED compression.
Why is this the case? Why do these cams NEED compression? Anyone?

High lift, long duration, long overlap cams need high compression in order to work and produce power.
