I can't think of any codes that the CEL would throw...as for the install, if you don't have the right tools it's a pain. You need a really really long extension to get to the bolts underneath the manfold. That manifold is the biggest pain in the ***. I'll post pics later of when I did the install on mine....

Thats the reason i am putting my manifold on while the motor is still out of the car. I can't think of any codes it would throw either.

It will throw a code for the IAB valve (butterfly). GSR = dual stage intake manifold, Skunk 2 = single large plenum. There is probably a work around for the code using the Skunk 2 manifold with the stock ECU, hopefully someone who is using this setup will chime in.

I installed min myself. It sucked. Personally, I didnt think the manifld was that hard, the manifold support bracket is what sucked. Its a big black bracket connecting the manifold to the block. Get that off and it should be smooh sailing.

And, I didnt throw any codes at all.

here's my how-to on the Skunk manifold for the GSR/P72 head:

http://tiiite.ghettoracer.com/tech/sk2manifold/

and yes you should have the ecu reprogrammed if you go with a Skunk2 manifold. And if you own an OBD2 equipped vehicle, I suggest going OBD1.

the vtec cross-over is too low. your mid-range would feel like crap. convert to OBD1 and run a chipped p28/30/72

Having a non-functioning/disconnected IAB will not throw a CEL. That being said, I agree that you should run a chipped ECU with the Skunk2 manifold to realize the most power gains.

**** that manifold, It looks like it's made like ****. If it was made from the same material as the OEM ITR then it would be cool but it's that weird casting. I like the OEM GSR dual stage manifold better.. Many people don't like to remove the secondary butterflies because they say they have seen negative results.. My friend and I do this to every GSR we work on and on average you can gain 4whp from it. Just unbolt the shell remove the whole secondary plate, install a new gasket and retorque to 17ft./lbs with shorter bolts. It's also a good form of weight reduction...(secondary butterfly plate and IAB solenoid canister weigh about 3lbs total) hehehehe j/k.. Laterz

It will throw a code for the IAB valve (butterfly)
That's not correct. If it is correct, what CEL number is it???

so the casting makes a difference in HP?

so you like the dual stage better so you remove it...

dyno plot please?

Yup, their car makes 268 whp. If one of the fastest NA drag teams picks the gutted GSR mani, then so do I.

When I first got my Skunk2 intake manifold for my B20, I have to say that I too was not very impressed with the appearance of the manifold. But when I felt how that manifold put out, I no longer really cared that it was not up to par with a stock Honda piece.

very true. but what i always couldnt understand was that if u have the gsr mani with 8 ports instead of 4 like a single runner, then wouldnt 8 ports supply u with double the amount of air instead of the usual 4 runners?? wouldnt that equal great top end...and espeically if they are ported??? owell....i will defenitly port my mani, and see if i get any diffrence.
