Default Skunk2 cam setup help

I am going to be installing Skunk2 Stage 1 cams, JDM (does that even make a difference?) ITR inner valve springs, ITR outter valve springs, and Skunk2 cam gears in the next few weeks. I need to know if I'm going to have driveability problems if I get these parts installed without a VTEC controller. I plan on getting a VTEC controller shortly, but I would like to have the cams and valvetrain installed before I go back to school. Also on my list to get are the DC JDM 4-1 header and a bigger cat. Should I get anything else before I head to the dyno for tuning like an FPR?

Any info would be appreciated

it will drive perfectly...but u will notice if on a GSR the vtec crossover point is at 4400...with the skunk cams u will have to have vtec around 5100 to 5500.....i noticed when i put mine in that it hurt midrange because vtec came on too soon.... and to tune i would get that header....vafc.....header exhaust...intake....throttle body....fuel pressure regulator fuel pressure guage....cam gears...

Well what i would do is get some ITR cams and save the rest and get a skunk2 intake manafold..and i would put portflow inner valve springs in..and you might gain like 13hp off of the shuk2 cams stage 1 but if you get the ITR cams you will gain like 10hp and if you get the intake manafold youll gain like 7hp and those together you get 17hp with the price of stage1 cams..but if you are a low buget racer thats what i would do but if you are rich then get the shunk2 cams and get the intake manafold to while your at it

hmm...did yo ever go from ITR cams to Skunks?! i did


its so worth it over the ITR cams. low end feels the same. but mid range and top end, skunk cams just embarass the ITR cams.

with the setup u have planned, tou should have no issues. for now, just use the settings that the skunk cams come with until u can get it dyno'd
