Default Skipping IACV?

If I leave the damn thing plugged in and just put a piece of aluminum between it and the Intake Manifold.

Attempting to get rid of the stupid thing and deal with my idle issues.

P.S. I am gonna try it tonight anyway just want some opinions.

i dont think runing without an IACV bypassing air to the engine will help your idle.

unless it is broken.

(i dont know what the history of your idle problems are though...)

HTH,

you will have no idle control and the cold idle will be non existent, if you have timing and fueling piggybacks, you can compensate and atleast get it to idle like me. i lean it alot and advance the timing @ position 1 on my ITC...

Well.....it worked.....ROFL.

Before I couldn't get my idle to drop below 1100 and the idle would be at a high 2000 while cruising to a stop. Now.....750 on the nose.

I am pumped this is the first time I have gotten the idle normal on this car.

I guess the IACV is bad.......eh, oh well it isn't throwing a code so it can stay. I don't care about the fast idle for warm up anyway.

but does your idle adjust for engine temp?

that's a big point... it'll warm up the car faster...

why can't you connect it to your intake/airbox?

It bypasses air past the Trottle body. So there is no point in connecting it to the intake box.

Yes I lost the warm up......oh Darn (sarcasm), so I have to put my foot on the pedal for a few minutes before I leave.

At least now I don't have a cruising idle of 2000 and a stopped idle of 1500.

That is why I bypassed it......instead of replacing the IACV (money issue) I simply took it out of the picture.

I have a bad IACV circuit (probably the ECU) I bypassed it a while ago, when it was cold out the car would not idle unless i held the rpms at 1500 rpms for a few minutes until it gradually warmed up and idled fine.

Exactly, I really don't bother.....she idles at 450 when cold and then moves up to 1000 when warm.......

Still researching that......actually going to reset the TPS and trottle stop but, gotta switch suspensions first.

you've probably alreay covered this but did you play with your TPS to try and fix the idle? or the screw-bar under the butterfly valve spring?

nope.......was going to do that tonight but I have to trade the spings from one Civic to the other to get the full trade in value of the one with a "modified suspension".

If I get that done tonight then I will play with trottle tomorrow afternoon.
