Default Sir I or Sir II

I was wondering what is the difference between a b16a sir I and a b16a Sir II? Other than one runs on a pr3 and a p30 piston. There was like a price difference of like 500 dollars from sir I to sir II.

Sir I is OBD1 and Sir II is OBD2, other than that i dont think there is a difference!

actually I think SiR I is obd0 out of the crx's civics and older integras. The SiR II is out of the JDM 92-95 civic and del Sol's. It is also OBD 1 and has a higher comp ratio and has a little more HP.

one is newer than the other, so SIRII is likely to have less mileage or in better condition maybe.

well I heard that the jdm b16 sir II has like 170 horsepower at 7600 rpm and alittle torque but the sir I has 10 horsepower less than the sir II like around 160 at 7600, just making sure. Other than that 10.4.1 and 10.2.1 compression, everythign else pretty much looks the same, but i've heard that that sir II has cams that are alittle bit more agressive , but even so it couldnt of added 10 extra horsepower.

I'm not sure what the exact specs of the motors are but the comp ratio is correct and I do think the SiR II has a bit more aggressive cams. The cam probably is more efficient up top and a long with the slight increase of compression, the extra 10hp seem pretty achievable. Honda can engineering some pretty amazing things.

the sirII gets a better intake manifold.
more compression 10.4 vs. 10.2
different valve cover
different/better pistons
cams are the same IIRC, the extra power 170ps vs. 158ps is from the bump in compression and the better intake manifold.

I've owned both the sirII was more fun for sure.

Sir & sir 2 are trim levels that came on both ef & eg hatchs. Sir 2 got more addon like lsd & extras & G2 b16a cams have .3 more lift on the intake & 5° duration On intake & 2° on exhaust more aggressive ecu turning, .2 more CR & better intake is where the extra 10 HP comes from.
