single-cam gone wrong, ohh no
i am new to the import scene, but i'm well above novice. anyway, i purchased a 93 ex civic coupe that already had minor modifications done to it. while driving i was challenged by a jetta. it was a peice of cake but after i finished the race, my car lost power by alot. come to find out, i threw a piston rod in my engine. this hasn't happened before, why now? also, anyone know a good price on a b16 and a goodplace to install on top of precautions i should take in getting the engine(transmission, ecu, etc.) DOWN WITH SINGLE-CAMS!!!!

Down with you.
How would you lose power if you threw a rod? The motor would not have been running at all.

MY MOTOR WILL RUN BUT. ABSOLUTELY %50 LOSS OF POWER. I'M SPEAKING OF TERMS TO WHICH I CAN CUT THE CAR ON BUT I HAVE TO IDLE HIGH TO KEEP THE CAR RUNNING, THEN AFTER A WHILE OR IF I GET OFF THE GAS OR GEAR, IT CUTS OFF(THE CAR)

Down With Single Cams?!?!? That's a Bunch of crap! ! single cams DO have potential to make power it just is not as Simple as a b16 swap would alone. But more power to ya if ya DO get the b16
BTW exactly How Hard BAD were you driving to manage to Blow such a new engine? i'm still boosting on 1.5 1988 internals daily with no problems! NA? 93 ? i dunno it must have been a poorly maintained and/or WHIPPED HARD daily

I ADMIT IT, I PROBABLY WASN'T DRIVING AS WELL AS MARIO ANDRETTI BUT GOT-DAMN, I DO KNOW HOW TO DRIVE A STICK,ON TOP OF THAT, I'M NOT A HONDA ABUSER(ONLY CAR). PLUS THE ENGINE HAD 167K MILES ON IT. I DON'T WHIP HARD DAILY.
Buy another D16 block for $200, build it with strong internals for around $1500, and have yourself a nasty D ready to boost for $1700 which is way less than any B16 swap.

i had a couple of mechanics listen to it, i also described the sound to others that couldn't come see the car. sounds like a hard click-click-click on the bottom right side of the engine
