Is it a Si 5spd or not?
I have a 90 base model hatchback that I ZC'd a couple years ago and I was wonderin how to tell if I may have put a dx 5spd in it instead of a Si gearbox. The reason I'm thinkin this is 1) The car gets crazy gas mileage (40-42mpg@80-90mph,windows down on the hiway) and 2) A friend has a stock crx si that will stay with me until he's max'd out 5th gear but my car still seems to have a lot more rpm left in it. I put the car on stands, pulled the plugs, put the trans in 5th and turned the motor over by hand and it took between 3 1/4 and 3 1/3 crank rev's to turn the front wheels once. I could'nt find any info on dx gear ratios but what i got does'nt seem to match the Si info unless my math is wrong. Does anybody know how to figure this out?
