Default Short Shifter??

Ok I was wondering does anyone know how to make a short shifter? Not a real short shifter that shortens your throws but just making the shaft of the shifter small b/c I like the way it looks . I read somewhere else just to cut the top off and then hammer back on the shift **** but I dont like the way that sounds. Also is it easy to re-thread the shaft or no. Also what is the best company that makes short shifters for our 4th gens and where can I get it for a good price b/c the only company I know that makes short shifters is Neuspeed. Well get thats all thanx.

buy a 4th gen prelude shift lever if you have a 5th gen accord.

or http://www.ntpog.org , and search for the articles there, they have a decent guide to doing it.

I just got mine done today, my dad welds during the day so he did the work on it. I marked two spots for him to cut. The first was about an inch down from the threads, and the second was 2 inches down from that. So he cut off the threads + 1 inch and welded it back on 2 inches lower. Then he grinded it all down smooth. Looks VERY good, if I painted it, you wouldn't be able to tell.

If you add a little length to the shifter below the pivot, it will actually shorten the throw, just FYI. Also, why do you want a shorter shift lever? i mean, why do you want the shifter farther from the steering wheel? Makes no sense to me....

I dont like driving with a broom stick, I haven't got to try mine out yet but I think I'm going to really like it.

Im actually working on an extension for my skunk2 shifter, it will make the shifter closer to the steering wheel, as in more functional, but who cares about how it works, its all about the TiZzItE shirt shift y0!

I own the B&M, it's alright, very cost effective

Some negative things about it, is that it rattles on certain RPM, like ~4000 in 4th and 5th.

(Hopefully I'll get this fixed w/ prothane bushings)

Also learn to use your feet w/ the clutch better, often the quicker shifts will grind the synchos slightly if your not quick enough w/ your feet when jamming through the gears

Good thing is so far there have been no troubles in bending or breaking.
