Hey whats up, I'm having some tranny problems in my '93 Si and I dunno what could be causing the problem:
#1 Car doesn't like to go 1st->2nd (gear shift "holds" itself in neutral for a while untill I pu into gear, happens a lot)
#2 Car grinds frequently into 3rd (I thought it was a psyc. problem, but I held down the clutch all the way and it did it, happens atleast once a day)
#3 Car grinds into reverse (in mornings and when backing up, happens a couple of times a day)
#4 Car falls out of 3rd (I would be cruising and gear would pop into neutral, happened a couple of times)
#5 After like #2 or #3 happens, I get this terrible smell comming from my car (when I have the vents/sunroof open), smells kinda like oil burning.

I'm working on a motor to swap into the car (b-series), and I can see there being some problem with my tranny, but I would like to know if there's a way to check if my master/slave cylinder is failing beause I'd have to reuse them with my swap and I wouldn't want that to fail on me.

BTW- The car is a '93 Civic Si (sohc vtec) w/ approx. 148k mi

 

I know when I got my first car it was realy hard to put into all the gears...the springs in the clutch were all broken...ur clutch might be getting ready to go....but my car never popped out of gear...that is realy weird...u dont have synchros in first gear or reverse...I dont know what else to say but hurry up on ur swap before ur tranny/clutch goes out

 

Yeah, I'm almost ready 4 my swap, jus shoppin around for a clutch - looks like exedy for my b-motor. But I wanna c if I can "guestimate" on how bad my tranny is, so I can see if I'll have to "rush" my project
