Default Shifter Bushing Install Question

This question is for anyone who has installed the shifter stabilizer bushings on a B series engine.

Has anyone been able to install the front (circular and next to the tranny) bushing without cutting the lip on the bushing? If so, how-in-God's-name did you do it?!!! I even tried using a small vice to push that little fawkker in without success.

Has anyone had problems after cutting the lip? It seems that the bushing could still do it's job as long as one does not cut onto the seat of the concave metal washer.

i put them in my Si and all i did was spray them with silicone to soften them real quick then put in the stabilizer bar. you may need a screwdriver to pry it in.

my bushing was cut in half from the package, you might be able to do that, if you can cut it cleanly

well you can start by putting some oil on it to lube it up, but i didnt need to. then i put a little piece of wood on the bushing, put the bushing next to the rod hole, and then another piece of wood on the other side of the hole and put a C-clamp on either side of the wood and compressed it that way with the clamp.

Is it a Energy SuspensionUrethane bushing if it is when you remove the tubular spacer it should be a two piece molded part that slides in from each side. slide the tubular spacer evenly and push into posistion.

I've tried using lubricant and a c-clamp, using two wooden blocks just as you described, but it keeps creating an angle when the lip starts moving inside the arm's hole. When the angle is inevitably created (because of the dern lip) the c-clamp starts to simply slide down the wooden blocks.

Yes, it is an Energy Suspension bushing, but no it is not 2 peices. Neither one of the bushings that came with their shift "stabilizer" kit comes apart. The kit is for the 94-00 Integra chassis. I just assumed that most B-series engines/trannys would have similar linkages for the shifter assemblies. Perhaps they don't.
