Default shifter broke

okay my shifter broke on me...and now part of it is in my shift know...we tried drilling it and putting one of those thread like tools in it and it won't come out...we drilled it bigger...now its almost gone...but some of the metal is still locked up in the **** treads...how do i take it out...and should i just throw away this shiftknob...could a machine shop do it...plus it a itr **** lookalike.

Did you have one of those cheap e-bay shifters? they tend to brake. use a tap on the **** and make new threads and use a dye on the shifter handle and your are good to go

what is a dye? and what is a tap? yeah..ebay shifters sucks.

a tap is a tool used to cut new threads in a nut. A dye (sp) is a tool used to cut new threads on a bolt. They should work great for you. Try a local speed shop or even a hardware store
