Hi i recently got a Shift light to help me on the track and its one of those Big Autometer Style Adjustable Lights...Ive never been a fan of that and i am going to be converting the big light to a Small Led hidden somewhere. Then for the Adjuster **** im just gonna mount it in the dash somewhere thus getting rid of the long housing it comes with...

My question is since it has a 12V source and i wanna add an led which wont be 12V can i just put a compatible resistor inline with the led?
