Car: 1993 Honda Civic DX... 5 speed S20 DX trans... aluminum shift forks

I usually don't shift to first in autocrosses, matter of fact I hate doing so; but the acute angle this one turn had necessitated the deed. I got it into gear (no buzz or grind) as I matched revs but there was still greater effort to do so as opposed to downshifting from 3-2 per se.

The gear change from 1-2 and fron N-1 seems a little notchier now. Could I have tweaked the fork? Or should I just change the fluid and be on my way?
