shift fork question

Default shift fork question

i have a trans from a d16y7 torn apart in my shop. my question is, can i put the shift forks from that trans into the one in my 91 crx si.??

I want to say no because one is hydraulic and one is cable, although that doesn't affect the fork, they could be different sizes because of that.

im just spit ballin here, but it looks like i'm gonna have to be the guinea pig to find out if it'll work or not. i too thought that there might be a problem with the hydro/cable differences, but also thought that somebody might have already attempted this.
