serious problems with braking system
I had been building my engine since october and the car is finaly ready to run but i have a problem with the brakes staying locked. It seems like the fluid is still under pressure even when i let off the brakes. I try to roll the car and they are locked but if i crack the bleeder they will become free until i hit the brakes again. It is all 4 wheels and none seem to be any worse than the rest. I have a total stock braking system on a 97 integra. Does anyone have any ideas what could be the problem?
My guess is something to do with the master cylinder. Try posting this in the Competition Forum, they are quite knowledgeble on brakes in there.
I'll bet its the flex lines going to the front brakes. If its an older car (I guess it is) they can swell internally and hold pressure like you said, have seen this several times and once on my own car. now if its ALL the brakes maybe it is the master cylinder. OOPS right is it all the brakes. Did you check to see if you didn't pinch or crimp any of the lines in the engine bay taking out the motor or putting it back in? its a long shot but that is a weird problem.
