Serious N/A question!!!!!!
Im pretty sure people have tried this but I was thinkin of building up a 1.5liter NON-VTEC motor. Its original and i have never seen n e one from where i am from do it. My question is....What can i do to this weak/poor motor to make it fast as hell and how much would it cost me? Its gonna be in a 93 Civic CX hatch.
instead of giving your d series question the usual "d series sucks get a b series" i will try to give you some insight....then ill tell you d series sucks go b series.
you can put the d16z6 head on the d15b7 block. this made a completely torqless motor that has decent power. my compresion with that setup was 270-280 on all 4 cyl with the comp gague. i think that with some basic bolt ons (i had i/e) wasnt that bad but not overly fast (stock weight del sol s). i never hooked up the vtec but you can do that. then try vtec cams, integra tb, d16y8 intake manifold. past that the block is weak the rods are weak and the pistons are weak. making more power would require some work. at that point i would say go b series. if you want to just f!@$ around d series is cheap and easy to find but b series is a better base to build from.
