Default Sealant for fuel feed line... AN fitting?

My fuel line has a tiny bit of a leak where the AN fitting goes on this fitting to my fuel rail. So basically i need some kinda of GOOD *** sealant that i can use on an AN fitting. Oviously not teflon tape. My buddy told me something like.. AChromatic Sealant.. or something that sounds like that. Aromatic?

well i work at a motorcycle shop, we build s&s vtwin motors for customers, and we use teflon tape for many applications concerning fuel lines, however sometimes we also use a type of thread sealant that comes in a small container, sorta like the stuff you can find at a plumbing supply store, i cant remember the specific name right off hand, but if i think about it ill look and get back to you

You can buy soft brass "cone" washers to use on AN and other hose ends. You use them if the sealing surface has a flaw on it. You should always use a new one when removing the hose.

They are kind of hard to find. I get them from a local "hose" shop. I think they are from aeroquip.

Yeah sometimes when you over tighten these AN fittings to tight you mess em up and they leak.. Just go get a new fitting. Also try using Red thread locktight to seal the threads off, its the only thing I found that works for me to stop the tiny leaks..

I also would replace the hose-end and adapter.

If the hose-end and adapter are already considered trash, then threadlocker wouldn't be a bad idea as long as it was resistant to whatever fluid it was transferring.

Otherwise, AN flare fittings don't require any sealant.

I think that "AChromatic sealant" your buddy was referring to is anaerobic sealant. My sealant of choice is Hondabond, but there's a wide range of stuff out there. Ultra grey, ultra black, ultra sticky, ultra shitty, or whatever you wanna call it.
