I was just wondering what you guys think I should do about this cam cap... It the #4 on the IN side.... My friend (jdmDXrex) just bought this GSR head and we haven't installed it yet... The scoring is not from dirty oil or the rotation of the cam but it looks more like whoever took the head apart slipped and dinged it... In the pic it is the light parts that almost look like fibers of hair.. They are really fairly like but you can feel the ridge with your fingernail... Just wanted to see what everyone thinks... Micropolishing?? That's what I was thinking but we'll see... Thanks in advance.... Peace

 

i dont think that would affect anything. but i would probably get it polished out to make myself feel better.

 

you cant replace that because each honda motor is line bored differently. what you can do is to get a whole set of cams from another gsr and the caps. but defin try polishing it first. it should get most if it out.

 

I know that you can't enterchange cam caps... Even if we were to get a new set we would have to have them honed to spec... Every set it different... But yea i'm still gonna have it micropolished... Thanks

 

take a fine grit sandpaper to it and it shold be fine

 

 

What would you guys recommend?? 1000grit... Latez
