safe redline
I have a Skunk2 chip on the way, and I'm wondering how high I can take my redline with stock internals, without doing any damage..I do have upgraded Skunk2 Stage 2 cams, gears, springs, and retainers..
thanks

throw it on the dyno to see where the power peaks- but, I know of dudes takin stock bottom end daily driven b18c1's to 9k rpm. the head stuff ( i see your takin' care of that area) and tuning is what needs to be addressed, especially at those engine speeds, but the bottom end is solid- the stock rods are lightweight, the pistons are cast and light, and its balanced inherently

Don't go higher then 9200rpm.
A friend of mine cracked his retainers at 9500rpm max. He dumped a valve, end of engine........

It doesn't slip at all, and only happens sometimes. I was going 25 mph and put in 5th, and it still acclerated with comprable to the tach..I'm wondering what else it could be.
I wouldn't take it up way high. If you are running a stock head that will probably be the first thing to fail from over reving. Just don't float ur valves. I would say 8400 or so......... but yea slap it on the dyno and see what you can make power too. If you can make power up there then upgrade what you need to to do it.
with STOCK internals?? stock cams, valvetrain, everything?
stay at 8100
stay at 8100
take it to a dyno and see where you stop making power.
