Is it safe to cover spark plug wires.
I have a 97 Honda Civic HX 5 speed. My spark plug wires are in good condition and i don't want to replace them but they look pretty dirty. i've seen spoark plug wires covered with the same fire retardent plastic used in engines for regular wiring harnesses. i use the car daily. can i do this and it be safe?
I tried that too. cleaning just didn't cut it for me. i used that plastic and i haven't had any problems yet. i only did that about two weeks ago so we'll see.
thanks perfectionist, i'm with Raven 69 though. I tried and they still look terrible. i hate replacing them so often just cause they look nasty. any other ideas? by the way, do you recommend anything special to clean them??
don't know about cleaning them but i used the wire loom covers and they work fine. i even have them tied together using the plastic tie wraps for wires. i've had it like that for about 6 months and i haven't had any problems at all. i covered all the wires and vacuum hoses in my engine bay with blue wire loom and i haven't had any problems.
