Could a SAFC be used to help pass e-check.

e-check...as in emmissions??

It may help but if you don't have a 5-gas analyzer, how are you gonna know? Are you going to try and tune it, take it for inspection, it fails, you re-tune...rinse, lather, repeat?

If this is OBD2, then so long as the emmisions monitors have run and been completed successfully, you'll pass.

 

Dont bother with it. If you are planning on purchasing an safc for the simple reason of passing emissions, just give it up.

You might want to tell us the reasons you think that you might not pass emissions, that way more info could be provided to help you remedy the problem, rather than bypass it temporarily.

 

Funny you should ask...i didnt buy an SAFC to pass, but i had it on my setup...i went to ECHECK and they let me make a few pulls to richen and lean out the a/f to pass individual points of the inspection, over all, i passed and i was happy! So if you must get one do it and play with it, but running a cat should do enough
