S2000 swap possible into a Civic?
I was just wondering if F20b swap into a Civic would be possible. From what I know F series and H series has same tranny bell housing, then simply swapping H22 with F20 would do the job, no?
Just curious.

from what i been told recently someone is trying that as we speak... can not say who, but i'm sure it will not be a secret for long
i think if you search the internet there is an adapter to use a b series tranny on the S2000 motor, anyone back that up?

To make sure:
F22a/b - POS accord SOHC
F20b - Torneo DOHC VTEC 200hp
F20c - S2000 DOHC VTEC 240hp
right?

Link me or I won't believe it. That would mean that your average accord owner could slap a 6-speed on his F22 and, somehow, I doubt that Honda would make the K and F series trannys interchangable when they could've mated the K tranny to a B or D series block before casting. It just wouldn't make any sense.
Also, unless you mounted the S2K engine transversely, the K-series tranny would be sitting much too far back to be of any use on a FWD car.

The s2000 motor rotates in the reverse direction from a B motor. Unless you are a skilled forktruck racer, I don't think you want 5 reverse gears. The K series from the RSX rotates the same direction as the s2000 but I have no idea about the ability to bolt them together. Even if it bolts up, engine mounts will be interesting since it does not have one on the cam drive end like a transverse engine does.
H series rotates same direction as B series. Same problem with making the trans work in the right direction.

If what everyone is talking about is the F20C with the heavilly modified K-transmission from Area 51 or whatever, yeah, it is possible, but possible only in a sponsored shop capacity (at present). What I'm saying is that you can't go out, pick up an S2000 longblock and a Type-S RSX tranny and put them together without some heavy work.
Why you would use the S2K engine in a FWD application when there are existing, cheaper, more reliable and more common swaps eludes me. Get a JDM H22 with 220hp and 155tq if you want a heavy torque FWD racer. Why bother with the F20C?

Duh, this is the one.....

there is a shop that put an rsx motor in a 96 civic coupe if that is possible and they are to be selling the wiring harness for the swap. and if the s2k motor and rsx tranny will mate together than i don't see why the whole swap wouldn't work.
