rywire harness problem
hello everyone. alright so my buddy has a 2000 civic si with a built ls/v turbo converted to obd1 running on s300. now we have everything hooked up and sodered in there proper locations. subharness wires sodered on to the oem ecu plug just like the rywire directions say. now the problem were having is when we start it up it runs perfectly fine but the tachometer will either not work or jump around. ive checked the connection over and over and its in the right spot.
i put the oem harness back on and everything works so nothing was messed up with other wiring that was done. now i noticed the rywire distributor plug has 9 wires and the oem plug has 8. idk if that could cause anything? also when i try to jump the check signal terminal the check engine light doesnt blink at all? any info or anyone thats had a similar problem that can point me in the right direction would be much appreciated.
i have emailed rywire and they just gave me the same wiring diagram i used to put it in. called and left a message still waiting on a return.

try running the wire from the distributor to the test wire by the driver's side shock tower like so...
