Default Runninh With no ps fluid

I am running my steering rack without any PS Fluid.
The PS Pump is out
Can this damage the rack?
What are the consequences?

some people say that without it your rack will crap out, but i don't entirely believe that

i have my rack gutted, as well as my last rack and the only issue i have is a bit of play in the wheel, but i haven't tightened up the adjuster bolt to try and see if that would do it

Could be a bad ball joint.

I would loop your hoses and ditch the power steering pump. Maybe pour a little fluid into the rack to keep it lubricated.

if the rack is already leaking then it is already bad and needs to be replaced, so whats the difference. if you dont care about the powersteering then just rock it till it gets tough to steer. I would remove the belt off the pwr pump so it doesnt lock up from lack of lube
