okay I have posted this topic on a few of the other Honda boards and no one has had any good explanations or suggestions for me.

I have a 94 Prelude VTEC with 134.5k on it and under WOT, it spews out a cloud of black smoke that is pretty sizeable. I know cars under WOT do sometimes release black smoke, but I know this is not normal at all. The car seems to run strong and have good power, it dynoed 167 recently. I just want to clear up this ugly black cloud somehow. Could it be an O2 sensor? (my check engine light isn't on). What are the parts I should check and replace to try to clear this up. I changed the plugs this past spring...

 

does u'r engine bugs out when its fool throttle
cuz mine does that but i don't see any black smoke caming out on the exhaust pipe

 

I would check the plugs and see if you can determine a source. If you have a leaking injector you should be able to see that from your plugs. Also make sure the vaccum source to the fuel regulator is good.

 

How likely is that that it's a leaky injector? What should I look for on my plugs?

Where do I find the vacuum source to the fuel regulator?

Sorry for all the amateurish questions, but doing this kind of work is a little new to me
