Default Running to lean?

How can you tell if your car is not getting enough fuel, I recently bought a B&M FPR and i tuned it without a gauge, Today,For the first time ever, my check engine light came on when i was driving on the freeway, checked ECU:code 1(oxygen content) Is it bad to drive around like this? My car used to run rich, but the way how my FPR is adjusted, im getting very good gas milage. Should i adjust the pressure higher? Or is it good how it is now?

check the spark plugs:

a white tip of the spark plug = lean
a light brown tip of the spark plug= perfect air to fuel mixture
a black tip of the spark plug= rich

get a air to fuel gauge or a egt to tell then tune to what is best for you car!!!!!
