RPMS increase in hot weather. Please help
Hi,
I have a 1995 Honda Accord. 2.2L 16valve automatic. The car runs basically perfect all the time. Accept for in hotter weather. All winter its fine. But in hot weather the RPMS gradually increase until you can basically do 60kph without touching the gas. Its even worse in stop and go traffic. IF you get a nice long stretch of open road and get up to a good speed, this helps to calm the car down. Also, the heat gauge always reads normal.
Also, once in a while when started the RPMs will jump up and down. After a minute this stops. And it doesn't happen often.
When you put the car in park the RPMs will rise and stay at 2500-3000 when its bad.
I don't know much about honda's at all. I only have experience working on older Chevy trucks. So this is all new.
I have checked to make sure none of the cables going to the throttle body are tight when the car is idling this high. So its not a sticking cable. If anyone can help me out, that would be great. Also, any short forms might throw me off. And don't feel bad "dumbing" it down so i understand. I do not know anything about imports.
Thanks for everyones help. Also, sorry if i posted in the wrong section in the forum. I do not do forums to often.
