Default Rpm's do not drop when gas pedal is released

Ok, so I have a 90 crx si, and this isn't the only EF that I have had this happen on. Basically, when you are driving under load and goto shift, the rpm's do not drop, they sort of hang there for a second or so, and then slowly drop...it's driving me bats I've seen other postings about cleaning the tb and lubing the cable...but that's not it....any clues here anyone???

TIA!

Check the adjustment of your clutch it might not be fully disengaging so you might be slipping the clutch a little and not even know it.

You need to get a new tps, or loosen the throttle cable, or replace the map sensor. I have a 1990 crx with a B16a, and I had the firewall map sensor. I had the same problem, I was like wtf, I gotta wait 3 seconds every shift to let the rpms go down to the appropiate level so I don't burn the clutch.....But as soon as I bought a spoon sports throttle body when the map sensor on the throttle body my shifting improved 10 fold. It feels like a new clutch, honestly.

*Edit* Oh, and if you or anyone has messed with the idle stop screw on the side of the throttle body(you can tell because they mark it with tamper paint), then that could be your problem too. The only way to fix that is to get a new throttle body like I did.
