Default RPM issues.

This I posted in another thread in the CRX forum. Just wanna know what you guys think.

I have a 88 CRX with a B16A transplant. The other day my car quit on me while i was driving. I was able to figure out that problem. The screw that holds in the rotor in the distributor had popped out. Fixed that and car started. But since then whenever I accelerate when the RPM hits 5000 or so the RPM needle bounces erratically and the engine seems to make a gurgling noise. I also notice a little bit of powerloss but not a whole lot. I have a MSD cap and Fireball aftermarket coil. I have dissconnected the aftermarket coil and the problem still happens. I was hoping that if anyone has ever had this issue or heard of a solution it would be greatly appriciated.

So far I have been told that it could be the Ignitor or loose distributor.....
