Rounded Flywheel bolts...
I bought a LS long block from someone local so i can rebuild it. He said the motor was rebuilt 6 months ago but the rings didn't sit right so it smoked and stuff. My friend and I went to go pull the head off and couldn't get the head bolts out and they started to strip. Who ever put them in didn't torque them right. We finally got them out but now we are having trouble with the flywheel bolts. Now they are stripped. My question is what can i try to get them out? If worse comes to worse can i have a machine shop drill them out and helicoil the crank or is that bad? If so why? Any help is appreciated. TIA!

Well, as tight as the flywheel bolts are torqued on as compared to other bolts on the motor, I don't think normal means will get it off if it's stripped.
I would go straight to Sears and get a set of Bolt-Outs, preferably the impact grade ones if you have an impact gun. Hammer and twist it onto the bolt, stick a BIGASS breaker bar onto the ratchet (say, 4' or so) and go to town.
