Default Rough going into first gear and sometimes the rest

my slave cylinder went out and i replaced it and it was fine after that for awhile until recently it started to have a rough time going into first gear and then sometimes the other gears have a hard time going in. replaced the master cyclinder and tried 2 other new slave cyclinders. replaced fluid. tried gear oil and then next tried 10w-30. when the car is off, it will go into gear. the other thing i changed was the cusion on the stablizer bar to an energy suspension one. the clutch is new and is a 6 puck soild. and stage 3 pressure plate. i just put a new throw out bearing in it so im not sure wat it can be. when its cold, itll go into every gear fine except first, it doesnt really grind.

im having the same problem kinda, when car is turned off it will go into any gear just fine but when i crank it it will not go into first, sometimes will go into second with some hard pulling but will grind any other gear if i try but once i get it into second i can take off and it will go into any gear just fine except first. im taking it to a mechanic in the next few days so after i get it back and if its fixed ill let you know what he did to fix it.

93hondaprelude..... my car is doing the exact same thing, start out in second and go from there and it shifts into alls gears, and then try to go in first and it will not do it... also my gears also grind, reverse and third, i bet it is cos of this problem.... what do you think it is

i was thinking a stretched clutch cable, or its either too loose or too tight

also when you get your car into gear, does your car want to move on its own, even tho the clutch pedal is completely down? mine does.... but what you have explained is exactly what mine is also doing

this means your clutch is not fully disconnecting your drive line. It is the reason you grind.

Also, reverse does not have a syncro. So if you want to avoid grind you have to be at a stand still, shift into any gear and then shift into reverse.

Honda's don't like to shift into first while still moving forward, in fact most cars don't.

b18sihatch.....to be honest with you i'm not completely sure what it is because i've never seen this before. but i'm thinking it has something to do with the clutch needs adjustment or like he said the clutch cable could be stretched. my car is in the shop right now and i should be getting it back within the next few days. when i get it back and if it's fixed i'll post up here what was wrong with it and how he fixed it.

Yeha the clutch isn't fully disengaging i'd try finding the ajustments for it and ajust it a little bit.

well finally got my car back yesterday and they had to replace the clutch. Now it goes into first gear with no trouble and every other gear is fine so i'm guessing thats all they did so maybe you should think about buying a clutch and putting it in yourself because it would be alot cheaper if you knew how.

If you guys are running hrydo trannies, give your clutch line a nice bleeding...after changing the master cylinder air could have gotten trapped in there....
