Default rotten eggs

Whenever i'm driving faster than normal( shifting at around 5,000 rpm) and i have the temperature setting to hot with the fan off, i start smelling rotten eggs! I pretty sure that it's not me, so what could it be? When i put the setting to cold, everything is fine. I'm confused, can anyone help?
BTW it's a 94 ls with 65,000 miles.

the rotten egg smell doesn't mean your cat is bad, it means your cat is working, it is converting the sulfur passing through it

It's supposed to BURN the excess contaminants. That's what a CAT is. If working properly, it's like a mini-oven. Since he can smell it, it's not doing its job.

cats are used to create a chemical reaction (caused by heat) to change HC, CO and Nox into none harmful gases such as H20 (water), CO2. a 3 way cat is made up of paladium, platnium (spelling), and rhodium. a cat does work off of heat, but that is only because it takes at least 600-800 degrees F before the metals in the cat begin to cause a chemical reaction. the more sulfur, that passes through the cat the more you smell the rotten egg smell. that is why he can smell the rotten egg smell. he most likely got a tank gas with a lot of sulfur, or he is burning oil, which contains sulfur it could also be the clutch. if he goes to any shop and has it looked at they will tell him this is normal.

Thanks for the replies. TurboType-R, that was very informative. My bro told that my cat is clogged and i didn't believe him. Hopefully everything is okay.

so if the cat is clogged, wouldn't you have a decrease in performance, because of the lack of exhaust being able to flow. wouldn't you smell less exhaust gases? if the cat was wasted and the exhaust was still able to flow through wouldn't there be no chemical reaction taking place in the cat. the exhaust gas would smell like you had no cat at all. how can either situation cause a rotten egg smell?
