rings and bearings?

Anyone have any experience with Hastings brand piston rings or NDC brand rod and main bearings?

I used Hastings rings for a while and the car began to puff some smoke, so if it's a grocery getter you'll be fine but if you're having a little fun racing I wouldn't recommend them. Just my $.02
