RHD Vehicle question...
Ok guys, there are a few companies out there who specialize in importing cars over here (Motorex) for purchase. Now being right handed like the majority of the world is, wouldn't it be kinda difficult to shift with your off hand? I couldn't picture myself doing it effieciently at all...is it just me? I mean, i'd sure as hell learn to adapt if i could get my hands on one of these fine automobiles, but i'm just wondering what other people think. Thanks guys
we drive RHD cars over here, so when i went to work in germany years ago i had to get used to LHD cars, i kept reaching towards the door instead of the gear shift for a while but soon got used to it, also i had to consatntly remind myself when pulling out onto roads to drive on the right, especially if there werent any other cars on the road at the time to remind me, but after about a week or so, it was like second nature
Just like a lot of things in life, it just take's practice. Try riding with a friend and see if he'll let you shift the car from your passenger seat to get a feel for it. You'll have to work the timing with clutch engage/disengagement, but it does provide some practice, and a feel for what it's like.
